On July 4th 2006, Emaar Properties marked a milestone in our plans for international expansion by being the first Middle East property developer to open a fully fledged office in China. On May 2008, we set up a wholly owned foreign enterpris in Shanghai, China, located in Shanghai World Financial Center, to steer our ambitious investment plans in China.

Our multi-pronged approach will start with Beijing and Shanghai as the focal points for our entry into China, Beijing was the venue for the 2008 Olympics and Shanghai is currently hosting the 2010 World Expo. We are looking at the development of modern, community-centric lifestyle developments in these cities and are also looking at other real estate projects and strategic investments in hotels throughout the country’s growing cities.
