Ahmad Thani Al Matrooshi

Ahmad Thani Al Matrooshi, Managing Director, Emaar properties PJSC, joined the company in 2005. He has over 26 years of experience in real estate and property management. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and a Diploma in Property Management. He is a Member of Dubai Investment Park, and is the Founder and Chairman of the non-profit Dubai Property Group (DPG). He is currently responsible for overseeing the day to day operations within Emaar including government affairs, media, public and community relations and overall management of Emaar Dubai.

Executive Director - Finance & Risk

Low Ping, Executive Director – Finance & Risk, joined Emaar in 2002. She has over a decade of experience in finance. A certified Chartered Accountant, Low Ping is a member of the Certified Public Accountants in Singapore. Low Ping is currently responsible for risk management and all financial matters pertaining to the Emaar Group such as budgeting, financial and management reporting, equity structuring, taxation and treasury functions for the Group.

Ayman Hamdy
Executive Director - Legal & Company Secretary
Emaar Properties PJSC

Ayman Hamdy, Executive Director, Legal and Company Secretary joined Emaar in 2006 and was assigned the additional responsibilities of Company Secretary in 2007. He has over 15 years of diversified legal experience. Ayman started his career in private practice in one of the largest law firms in Egypt in which he worked on international business transactions and foreign investment matters. He then served as a public prosecutor for a period of three years until he joined Unilever in Dubai as their regional head of legal for a period of ten years. Ayman was also the resident partner of the Dubai office of a regional law firm, Shalakany Law Office. Ayman is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association, the Egyptian Association of Judges, Egyptian Association of Public Prosecutors and is a fellow of the International Bar Association. He is currently responsible for establishing the Emaar Groups' legal strategy, overseeing its legal and governance functions, securing legal protection for the company's assets, structuring major transactions and supervising the implementation of the company's bylaws, policies and regulations.

Amit Jain, Group Chief Financial Officer of Emaar Properties PJSC, joined the company in 2006. He has over 14 years of experience in Banking, Auditing and Management Consulting. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a CFA Charter holder from the CFA Institute, USA. Amit is currently responsible for the financial, IT and administrative management functions of Emaar in Dubai, the overall financial management of the business segments, Emaar’s International entities and the Treasury Function of the Group. He also works closely with the Executive Director - Risk & Finance on corporate finance matters. He is also Executive Director for India Operations of Emaar and is responsible for monitoring and managing the JVs in India.

Kenneth Foong

Kenneth Foong, Chief Information Officer of Emaar Properties, joined the company in 2007, and will lead Emaar's information technology infrastructure and utilize the potential of IT in building the company's roadmap for global growth and diversification. He has over 25 years of experience in managing IT operations and application delivery across manufacturing, telecom and real estate environments. Foong holds a Masters in Mechanical and Production Engineering and Bachelors degree in Computer Science.

Mohamed El Dahan, Executive Director of the Internal Audit Department , has joined Emaar PJSC-Dubai in 2005 as Executive Director, he also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Emaar Industries and the Chairman of its Executive Committee. He holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce and Accounting from Ain Shams University along with number of professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CFE) and has completed the Advanced Management Program by INSEAD in France.

Issam Galadari joined Emaar in 2000. He has over 24 years of experience in Development and Projects. He holds a Civil Engineering (Hons) degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Structural Engineering. Issam is a member of several professional associations including the UAE Society of Engineers and the Institution of Civil Engineering in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Issam serves as Director on the Boards of Amlak Finance PJSC and Emaar Financial Services LLC. He is a board member in Emaar International companies in Middle East and North African (MENA) region. He is also the Managing Director and in the Board of Directors of the joint venture between Bawadi and Emaar.”

Naaman Atallah, Chief Operating Officer, Emaar Dubai, joined Emaar in 2004. He has over 19 years of experience in real estate development and marketing. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the International and Middle East Councils of Shopping Centres, the Dubai Property Group and Emerald International Who's Who of Professionals Society. He is also Chief Executive Officer of the joint venture between Bawadi LLC and Emaar Properties and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the new company.

Sergio Casari
Chief Executive Officer
Emaar International

Sergio Casari, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar International, joined in 2009. He is responsible for strategic planning, design, construction, sales and marketing for Emaar operations across the MENA region including Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, in addition to identifying new growth opportunities across other international markets.

He brings over 20 years of experience in International Development, Project and Construction Management. He holds an HND in Design and Construction and has completed Executive Education in Management and International Marketing with The London Business School of Management and Templeton College in the United Kingdom as well as with Wharton University in the USA.

Before joining Emaar, Sergio Casari served as the CEO of Bovis Land Lease for the Asia Pacific region based in Sydney, where he directed the company operations across Australia, Japan, South East Asia and India, prior to which he was the CEO for the European division of Bovis Lend Lease with responsibility over 18 countries. He held the Managing Director position for Bovis Lend Lease in Spain and Portugal and previously worked with the general contractors Balfour Beatty and Italimpianti on a number of projects in the United Kingdom, Algeria, Russia and Italy.

Hazem Ashry with over 24 years of combined professional experience in Financial advisory and real estate development, Hazem Ashry is the General Manager of Emaar Misr. He is responsible for leading the day-to-day administrative functions and overseeing the management of the company’s of Emaar Misr. lifestyle projects in Egypt.

He joined Emaar Misr in 2007 from MAK Holdings, a leading real estate developer and investor, in South Africa, where he was Deputy Managing Director – Africa.

He started his career at Touche Ross International, a leading audit firm, and worked with Deloitte & Touche Egypt, where he was Senior Manager – Audit & Business Advisory.

A 44-year-old Egyptian, Hazem is a graduate in Commerce. He is a Chartered Accountant (Egypt) and Fellow of the Egyptian Society of Accountants & Auditors; and the International Fiscal Association Rotterdam.

Peter Titus, General Manager, Emaar International Jordan, joined Emaar in 2009. He has 33 years of experience in project & construction management in the Middle East & Europe, including 12 years in general management of teams delivering multiple commercial real estate developments. A graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of London’s Kings College, he holds a Masters in Concrete Structures from Imperial College, and is a Fellow of the UK’s Institution of Civil Engineers and a UK registered professional engineer. He currently manages the day-to-day operations of Emaar International Jordan and the Samarah Dead Sea project. He joined Emaar from Bovis Lend Lease, where he served since 1991, and as Regional Director for Central & Eastern Europe covering operations in 12 countries for the last seven years.

He has over 25 years of industry experience with proven project design, development and construction expertise in several international markets. He has been a member of several professional associations in Switzerland including the ‘Registre A des architectes, the SIA and the Swiss College of Experts. Fahd Al-Rasheed

Fahd Al-Rasheed, Chief Executive Officer of Emaar, The Economic City (Emaar.E.C), joined the company in 2008. A financial, investment and management professional, he has several years of experience working with the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, he helped to promote investments into the Kingdom and in managing Economic Cities. Mr. Al-Rasheed has also several years of finance experience gained from his work with Saudi Aramco. He holds an MBA and a BS in Business Administration from Stanford specialising in Finance and International Business. Mr. Al-Rasheed has also He will oversee the on-schedule completion of King Abdullah Economic City and enhance its appeal to international and regional investors.

Dr. Dia Malaeb

Dr. Malaeb joined Emaar in October 2008 and has since been leading Emaar Pakistan's multi-billion dollar projects in Islamabad and Karachi and also exploring new growth opportunities. Recently added to the leadership of Dr. Malaeb is Emaar Middle East which encompasses prestigious projects in Jeddah, Makkah, Al Khobar, Riyadh and other locations.

Dr. Malaeb holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and has more than 25 years of diversified experience in the areas of Project Management, Contracting, and Real Estate Development. Dr. Malaeb worked for four years with Almabani General Contractors in Saudi Arabia and was responsible for construction management. After that, he joined the Saudi Binladin Group and worked at the Architecture and Building Construction Division in Saudi Arabia. While with the Binladin Group, he held many senior roles including Project Controls Manager and Executive Director of International Projects where he managed operations in Malaysia and Jordan. He then worked for two years as Contracts Manager with Arabian Construction Company in Lebanon and returned to Jordan to work with the Shaheen Business and Investment Group for more than three years as Managing Director of Engineering and Construction – Real Estate Development Division.

Under Dr. Malaeb’s leadership, Emaar Middle East and Pakistan are moving forward in delivering world class living communities to the peoples of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Sarhad Haffar, General Manager, Emaar Syria S.A, joined Emaar in 2007. He has more than two decades of experience in architectural design, and project & construction management, and has worked on several major projects in the USA and the UAE. His fields of expertise include architectural design, detailing, field supervision and project management. A graduate in Architecture, Sarhad is an American Institute of Architects Associate and a recipient of the Total Quality Management certification. Sarhad is also a member of the UN global compact UNDP council (Syria) and a member of the Board of trustees of AAMAL (Syrian Organization for Disabled).

He currently manages the day-to-day operations of Emaar Syria including the development of Eighth Gate and other projects being planned.

Ozan Balaban

Emaar Properties Gayrimenkul Gelistirme Anonim Sirketi

Ozan Balaban, General Manager, Emaar Properties Gayrimenkul Gelistirme Anonim Sirketi, joined the company in 2006. He has over 16 years of experience in project and construction management including five years as architect and project engineer. He holds a Masters Degree in Construction Science and Management and a Bachelors Degree in Architecture and Renaissance, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is currently responsible for steering Emaar’s projects in Turkey including Tuscan Valley and New Istanbul Developments, and identifying new opportunities.

Nasser Rafi
Chief Executive Officer
Emaar Malls Group

An experienced marketing and IT professional, Nasser Rafi will lead the strategic growth of Emaar Malls Group with a focus on improving tenant mix policies whilst remaining sensitive to consumer trends, strengthening visitor footfall and increasing retail revenues in the existing mall portfolio of the company.

In addition to conceptualising and implementing growth strategies for The Dubai Mall, the flagship mall development of Emaar Malls Group, Dubai Marina Mall and Souk Al Bahar, Nasser will also explore new mall development opportunities in key emerging markets, where Emaar has a geographic presence.

Nasser was previously the Managing Director of Hamptons International – Middle East, and has a proven track record in projecting market trends and implementing sales strategies. He was involved in establishing the brand identity of Hamptons, identifying new consumer segments, evolving the project portfolio and strengthening the company’s rich assortment of value-added services.

A seasoned IT professional, Nasser joined Emaar Properties PJSC in July 2005 as Head of Information Technology, having worked in the IT sector for over seven years.

He holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, business intelligence software, and has extensive experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Arif Amiri

Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Retail LLC, joined Emaar Properties in 2006. He is mandated to drive the retail and entertainment operations of Emaar with a focus on strengthening Emaar Retail portfolio in key emerging markets across the Middle East and North Africa.

He also drives the expansion of Emaar Retail’s brand portfolio and builds new alliances & joint ventures for the mall developments of Emaar Malls Group.

Amiri was earlier Director, Investor Relations, Corporate Governance and Business Development, of Emaar Properties PJSC where he led the creation and the implementation of the IR strategy for the Group.

He also played a pivotal role in the formulation of the corporate governance framework for the business. Amiri’s contribution to the industry was recognized in 2008 when he was named Chairman of the Middle East Investor Relations Society.

A UAE National with more than a decade of experience in the banking sector, Amiri’s core competencies include strategic planning, business development, risk management and executive leadership.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Business Administration from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, USA; and an Executive Management Diploma in Marketing Strategy and Executive Diploma in Organization Behaviour from the University of Cambridge, UK.

Marc-Francois Dardenne, a Belgian national was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Hospitality Group LLC and Emaar Hotels & Resorts LLC in January 2007.

Marc is mandated with identifying, undertaking and developing world-class projects for Emaar Hospitality Group LLC and is responsible for leading the development of the Armani branded hotels and resorts world-wide. He steers the development of luxury projects in key cities and emerging markets globally.

Since joining the group, Marc has been instrumental in the creation and development of Emaar Hospitality Group’s international 5-star hotel brand, The Address Hotels + Resorts. Marc has built a world-class team in a short time span across various disciplines of the group while continuing to expand its extensive roster in the UAE and beyond. Under his able leadership both Emaar Hospitality Group and The Address Hotels + Resorts have been proud recipients of a number of key industry awards.

While at Emaar Hospitality Group, Marc has himself also won prestigious awards including the ‘CEO of the Year 2009’ from CEO Middle East. The award honoured his contribution to the hospitality sector in the Middle East and his outstanding achievements in identifying, undertaking and developing world-class projects for Emaar Hospitality and The Address Hotels + Resorts.

Marc was recently named ‘Accomplished Leader’ at the Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Awards and also honoured with the ‘Excellence in Hospitality Leadership’ Award at the 2009 Middle East Hotel Expansion Congress. He also ranked at No. 3 in the Hotelier Middle East’s 50 most influential hoteliers in 2009, and was chosen as the 37th most influential expatriate by Arabian Business.

Marc joined Emaar Hospitality Group from The Ritz-Carlton Hotels in the Middle East where he was Vice President and Area General Manager. He has also worked with the Hyatt Group, where he spent 11 years in Asia managing various properties in Bali, Jakarta and Manila. Marc’s global work experience also covers West Africa and Europe.

Marc has over 28 years of experience in the hospitality industry and holds a diploma in Hotel Studies from the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland and an Executive MBA from Golden Gate University.

Omar Al Shunnar

Omar Al Shunnar, Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Healthcare Group LLC, joined Emaar in 2006. A UAE national, Omar has extensive experience in the healthcare, banking and finance sectors.

Omar is tasked with ensuring the successful implementation of Emaar’s vision to create fully integrated communities, improving quality of life for the communities it serves and ensuring the continuation of the strategies laid down for the Emaar Healthcare facilities.

Having served as Finance and Operations Director with Dubai Development and Investment Authority, Omar has extensive banking and finance experience, and was Head of Cash Management at Borouge Pte Ltd, Singapore. He also worked with Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore and Citibank, Dubai. He was project manager for the pre-operational development stage of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) and also served as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer and interim Chief Operating Officer at DHCC.

A finance graduate from the University of Denver, Colorado, Omar served on the board of directors of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, and is a first batch graduate of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership Development Program.

He is a member of the International and Middle East Councils of Shopping Centres, the Dubai Property Group and Emerald International Who's Who of Professionals Society. He is also Chief Executive Officer of the joint venture between Bawadi LLC and Emaar Properties and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the new company.

Brian Etemad, esq.
Managing Director
Hamptons International, Middle East Operations

A legal professional with international experience, Brian Etemad spearheads the international expansion of Hamptons International in the Middle East and North Africa region with a special focus on strengthening the brand presence in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, as Legal Counsel – Real Estate Development of Emaar Properties PJSC, Brian was responsible for leading Emaar’s real estate development initiatives across the company’s key markets including the UAE and internationally.

Over the years, Brian has amassed extensive industry experience in identifying growth opportunities in new markets, setting the base for current developments and undertaking negotiations for strategic partnerships in new markets. His across-the-board experience has facilitated the formation of several international associations, which led Emaar’s pioneering developments in international markets.

Brian was earlier Director of Real Estate Development at DTZ, Singapore, and has honed his legal skills working at the Attorney General’s Office in New York and working for Senator Tom McClintock of California. He holds a Jurist Doctorate of Law from New York Law School with honours.

Ali H Odeh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Turner International Middle East LLC, became part of the Emaar Group in 2006. He has over 29 years of experience in project construction and has Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE). Ali is currently responsible for leading the growth initiatives of the Dubai-based Turner International Middle East Ltd LLC in programme, project and construction management across the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian Subcontinent.

Arif Alharmi

Arif Alharmi joined Amlak Finance in May 2007, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience coming from more than 18 years in senior positions at leading international and domestic financial institutions. In addition to his position as the CEO of Amlak Finance, Arif also serves as a member on the Board of Directors of a number of local and regional private companies as well as governmental institutions.

Giel-Jan brings with him over 23 years of extensive and varied banking experience and his most recent assignment was with Tier One Capital BV, Netherlands as Managing Director. Prior to that he worked with ABN AMRO for over 21 years in positions of increasing responsibility.

Giel-Jan’s long and diverse experience included assignments in different geographies like Indonesia, Ecuador, USA, Pakistan, Lebanon, Netherlands, Aruba, and Saudi Arabia where he was Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Saudi Hollandi Bank. Apart from detailed experience in Islamic Banking in Corporate and Retail areas, he also has a successful track record of strong achievements in various functions such as Corporate Banking, Operations and Human Resources. Among the many positions that he has held, Giel-Jan was also the Country Head for Aruba, Country Operations Head for Pakistan and Global Head, Human Resources, Global Financial Markets.

Giel-Jan holds a Masters of International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management, Thunderbird, USA and Bachelor of Business Administration from Nyenrode, Netherlands Business University, Breukelen.
